wolfacejoeyy: The 'cake' music video is all the sweetness you need on a Thursday

Want some cake, cake, cake right about now? Look no further than what hip-hop crooner wolfacejoeyy is serving up courtesy of his own ‘cake’ music video.

It’s all types of chill sounds and endless women turning up with signature bandaids, too. Happy Thursday!

wolfacejoeyy shares cake / don't be dishonest,” a 2-pack of sexy drill anthems, along with the video for “cake.” Joeyy previously teased the highly-anticipated tracks on socials, boasting over 160K combined views and over 7K creations on TikTok. The leading single “cake” finds Joeyy admiring the baddie on his arm: “I told her she sexy, she said period, purr.” Despite the fact that he can’t give his all to her due to previous heartbreak, Joeyy makes it clear that she’s still worth his time. The second single “don’t be dishonest” continues Joeyy’s lovestruck vibe, oozing confidence as he reminds his love interest to walk in her truth, noting he’s the best she’s ever had: “Baby let’s be honest / Everytime we had a problem baby girl I solved it / Treat you better than your ex you know I promise.” Joeyy premiered “don’t be dishonest” in a From the Block performance last week, building even more hype for the long-awaited track.

“cake / don’t be dishonest” is wolfacejoeyy’s second release of 2024, following the high-energy “wya” released in January (177k+ streams). The double single also arrives on the heels of Joeyy’s inclusion on Complex’s list of 24 Rappers To Watch in 2024, in which he was described as “one of music’s brightest, bubbling stars by way of his unapologetically original style.” Joeyy’s recent releases follow up his breakout year in 2023, in which he partnered up with Whereis22 (a.k.a. actor Michael Rainey Jr. from Power) for a number of singles, including the Pitchfork-praised singles “Game” and “weekend” with Cash Cobain and Chow Lee. Together, they released 22Joeyy, the rapper-producer duo's collaborative EP. The EP featured a remix of the song featuring Joeyy's old internet homie SoFaygo, plus a collaboration with Bronx drill rapper B-Lovee. Joeyy previously discussed the project in an interview with BET, and a profile in HYPEBEAST that came out earlier this month.

Balancing the success of 22Joeyy, acknowledgement as one of Complex’s 24 Rappers To Watch in 2024, and recently opening for Eem Triplin’s “Still Pretty Tour” – all while being a graduating college senior – wolfacejoeyy is on go mode.
