Cousin Fik, E-40 & Too $hort: It’s West Coast thirsting with the ‘Thangin’ anthem
Thickness on a Monday? I’m here for it. A few days removed from ‘Thangin’ dropping and it’s still a fire audio gem but the music video, too? My goodness.
Cousin Fik links with E-40 and Too $hort for their ‘Thangin’ anthem
It’s way bigger than just a West Coast vibe coming courtesy of hip-hop artists Cousin Fik, E-40 and Too $hort. It’s jaw-dropping and vixen-filled fun on display.
Cousin Fik dropped new single “Thangin feat. E-40 & Too $hort” which you can now stream HERE via Sick Wid It Records/Virgin Music.
The new high-energy anthem, “Thangin” celebrates confidence and admires the women body with a playful flair. Produced by Bijan, the song boasts a fun beat that allows the rap trio to deliver clever bars. Cousin Fik kicks it off by asking the question everyone is wondering, “Is it real?” and raps “You got a dump truck, Ima need a CDL.” E-40 jumps in to advise “Sometimes you gotta be careful what you wish for” and rhymes “Might have to use it an umbrella that thing raining, Might have to run for some shelter starting to pour.” Too $hort joins in saying “When that thang thang, them two cheeks get together like gang gang,” coming together to complete this certified club banger.
The single is an extension of Fik’s longstanding collaboration efforts with E-40, with whom he previously worked on hits like “Bay Area 51,” “Cold Game” and even appeared in the “Choices (Yup)” music video back in 2015.
Too $hort is diving into the movie world with his latest project, Freaky Tales, where he serves as both a producer and narrator. The highly anticipated film, opening in theaters on April 4th, was filmed in Oakland and follows four interconnecting stories set in 1987. Inspired by his iconic song “Freaky Tales” from the album Born to Mack, the film stars Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis, singer Normani in her film debut, Dominique Thorne, Jack Champion, Ji-young Yoo, and Angus Cloud.
