Jessie Murph: The 'Son of a Bitch' visualizer is Quentin Tarantino vibes and I love it

Need a change to what you’re used to? You know every now and again I love to throw curveballs around these parts especially when it’s something as fire as crooner Jessie Murph showing out with her ‘Son of a Bitch’ anthem.

The song is hard and getting an official visualizer, too? I’m hooked. Embrace the awesomeness.

Today, 19-year-old powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Jessie Murph has released her commanding new single, “Son of a Bitch.” Listen HERE. Written by Jessie, Jeff “Gitty” Gittleman, Gabe Simon, Carrie K, and Daniel Tannenbaum “Bekon,” the soulful tune introduces a new chapter of Jessie’s multi-faceted sound while keeping her signature Alabama twang at the forefront. Jessie debuted a visualizer alongside the track – watch HERE.

In speaking about the song, Jessie says: “‘Son of a Bitch’ is the start of a new era of Jessie Murph. The music that is coming is coming directly from my soul and I could not be prouder and more excited for what’s to come.”

“Son of a Bitch” marks Jessie’s first offering of new music this year and follows her hit single “Wild Ones” with Jelly Roll, which has tallied over 160M streams worldwide since release in October, broke through top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and reached #1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart. Jessie and Jelly Roll teamed up to perform the critically and commercially acclaimed track on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve as well as select stages along the Jingle Ball radio show circuit.

Fresh off the European leg of her sold-out global headline tour, Jessie will continue to dominate the road in 2024. The self-published multi-hyphenate will bring her live show back to North America after hitting major markets abroad and 40 cities across the US & Canada just last year. Jessie will be a mainstay at various festivals including Hangout, BottleRock, Boston Calling, Gov Ball, and more. Visit https://www.jessiemurph.com/#tour for more information.

2023 proved to be another standout year for Jessie who released her debut mixtape drowning in February to high praise. In May, she dropped “Cowboys and Angels,” which, along with her single “Texas (ft. Maren Morris),” ushered in a new era that etches raw emotion through her strikingly sincere songs laced with soul-gripping storytelling, hip hop-infused production, and alternative experimentation anchored by her modest pop appeal. Named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Genius, Pandora, and Amazon Music, Jessie also collaborated with Diplo and Polo G on “Heartbroken,” which hit the Top 40 at Pop radio in the US. Between praise from various outlets including SPIN, OnesToWatch, Flaunt Magazine, Hits, and amassing over 1 billion streams globally, Jessie is just getting started.
